Volunteering to help the Trust

Volunteering for the Suffolk Punch Trust is one enjoyable way of contributing to this unique venture.
Securing the long term future of the Colony Stud is also an important Trust objective. By combining the horses with the unique living landscape of the Suffolk coast – an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and a site of special scientific interest (SSI), the Trust can provide educational and heritage experience and learning programmes which are not available elsewhere.
School children, especially those in inner city areas, socially disadvantaged or excluded groups will benefit from visiting the Trust facilities at Hollesley. The Trust will also continue to support HM Prison Service resettlement programmes providing work, rural craft training, formal conservation and environmental training and other animal and farm related skills to prisoners.
Above all, the visitor attraction will allow the general public access to the horses, the wildlife and environment in this especially lovely area which ranges from heath land to sea marsh and the shore. Nearly 200 acres will be switched from agriculture to a public park for the enjoyment of generations to come.
In all these areas we will require assistance from volunteers like yourself. It is a great way to meet like-minded people and to be involved with a group of individuals who share the same enthusiasm as you. Being a volunteer will enable you to gain new skills or develop existing ones and can provide you with an opportunity to make a real difference.
Depending on the time you have available and your own interests, there are many ways in which you can help. As a volunteer you can gain important transferable skills in fundraising, campaigning, finance, team building, management, computers, administration etc.
To register as a potential volunteer with the Trust, please click on the volunteering form, complete and submit it. We will then contact you to discuss your potential involvement in our work.
