Colony Ufford Park sponsored by Ufford Park Hotel

Colin and Shirley Aldous, owners of the Best Western Ufford Park Hotel, Golf and Spa have sponsored 6 month old Suffolk Punch filly foal Colony Ufford Park owned and bred by the Suffolk Punch Trust.
Bruce Smith and Tracey Pettitt took Colony Ufford Park and her mother Colony Iris along to Ufford Park Hotel on 5th November to say hullo to Colin and Shirley and meet other hotel directors and members of staff.
A short while after the Suffolk Punch Trust purchased the Colony Stud in March 2006, Colin offered the boardroom facilities at Ufford Park for all management meetings of the Trust which has been much appreciated by those involved. They have also continued to promote the aims of the Trust to visitors to their hotel.
Both Colin and Shirley have visited the Suffolk Punch Trust, a registered charity and environmental body, and hope that the Trust soon meets its £1m appeal target to build a visitor centre and additional facilities on site at Sink Farm, Hollesley Bay. This appeal, launched earlier this year, has already reached over £250000.
The Suffolk Punch horse is a rare breed with only 400 or so worldwide and all those alive today can trace their descent through the male line to a horse foaled at Ufford in 1768 on land close to the grounds of Ufford Park Hotel.
Colin said that both my wifes father and my father were horsemen and I know that the Suffolk Punch has a great affinity with so many people, especially in East Anglia. We think the visitor centre is such a good idea and are only too pleased to help the Suffolk Punch Trust.
