COLLECTION FOR SPT BEFORE BIG MATCH AT PORTMAN ROAD

As one of Ipswich Towns nominated charities for this season, the Suffolk Punch Trust was invited to hold a bucket collection before the Ipswich Town v Newcastle match on 26th September 2009.   Colony Charlie was braided up in the blue and white colours of Ipswich Town and was much admired by the crowds on their way to Portman Road as he stood near the Alderman Rd recreation ground before the match.   The street collection raised an incredible £1611.63 for the Trust.   Unfortunately for Town fans, Colony Charlies presence could not inspire the home team who crashed to a 4-0 defeat and he may have felt some sympathy for their mascot Bluey !
